With this pleasure comes burden. Actions causing dopamine release are interpreted by your brain as a positive behavior, so the brain sends you signals to perform these actions, again and again, forming a (harmful) habit.

Sugars and some other pleasures of the modern world were named Supernormal Stimulus. This is when your brain is flooded with an excessive amount of dopamine. So much that it has never experienced it throughout the evolution. You get addicted and act irrationally, seeking to get the pleasure over and over again.

While dopamine release in normal amounts is one of the gifts you received from evolution to survive, excessive amounts lead to addiction and inhibit your proper functioning. Rational thinking ceases to exist, as you only care about satisfying the present craving without giving much consideration on the impact to the rest of your body in the long run.
