Pollination

On top of wild species of plants, a lot of fruits and vegetables that we eat depend on the insect-meditated pollination, which facilitates plants reproduction system. There are around 20,000 types of bees, of which only one makes honey – the honeybee. If bees disappear, many plants won’t be able to reproduce or won’t be so plentiful as they are now. People and animals all will be affected.

Bees have seen a decline in their population, which alarmed a lot of experts and environmentalists. Many beekeepers need bees for the production of honey and pollination of crops; hence many farmers (especially organic farms) rely on the colonies for their income.
