But most importantly, meditation helps with pain management. Physical pain in your body may be less bothering when you engage your brain in meditative states consistently. And here we should realize that physical pain can be of two natures – pain caused by lack of balance in the body which led to the development of disease and emotionally-driven pain which manifests physically in the body. Meditation helps to address both.

When people experience chronic pain, even the one linked to a medical condition, it wreaks havoc on their lives. Pain can be immensely destructive, on physical and mental levels. We are unable to concentrate, work mentally or move when intense pain is present in the body. Unfortunately, in western practices, pain management boils down to numbing the symptoms, without addressing the cause, which dooms people to take medications, sometimes for a lifetime, just to lessen the feeling of pain.
