Medical Pollution

Drug residue continues to pollute our environment. It comes from many sources, such as expired medicines thrown away (the ones that are kept “just in case” in most of the homes), residue in the urine of people taking medicine, pollution discharged to water from pharma plants or mismanaged manure of antibiotics and hormone-treated animals. The active ingredients pollute soils and waters, affecting aquatic life, plants, and animals.
