The production of plastic picked up in 1950 when the potential of this cheap, easily shaped, and durable material became apparent. Since this time, plastic production accelerates, even though we already see its impact and know how it will continue to affect us for much longer.

Plastic is made in a few steps involving linking small parts of monomers (ethylene and propylene) obtained from fossil fuels in the process of polymerization, which results in easily-shaped material – resin. Under the heat, the resin can be formed into any shape which a manufacturer needs.
