Mindfulness helps you to reverse this pattern and balance inside and outside experiences. Before all, mindfulness is a purposeful attention, which we lost the ability to execute. We have our five senses, but we only pay attention to information which is coming through them when it is massive.
We do not notice lovely subtle aromas, but intense smells. We see a tree on our way, but do not notice all the beauty of its elements and how they form a unique wholeness. We hear that people are talking, but we do not notice birds sing. We complain about the strong wind, without appreciating subtle kiss of a mild breeze. We taste sweet, sour or salty spices without appreciating subtle notes of the natural flavor of vegetables.
