Similarly to how oceans serve as a habitat for marine species, forests serve as a natural habitat of many land species, which are increasingly endangered when their homes being destroyed.

Mass extinction is already progressing, with many species that have disappeared or on the verge of extinction because of two factors:

  1. the inability to adapt to fast-pacing change in weather conditions
  2. human factors, such as deforestation, pollution and poaching
