How can we change it? How can we encourage more mindsets to shift? The answer rests in education. If you think back about smoking, for example, you notice that the rate of smokers declines every year. Before, people were not aware of the dangers it poses to health. But then governments started to educate on this topic, and slowly, people became more receptive and prone to terminate the habit.
We also see a similar shift with climate change – we see much more people who pay attention to how their actions affect the environment. Collective consciousness rises, but it is not happening quick enough. Our condition is already gloomy, and we need to accelerate the shift of more people. Here is a plus, because of our herd mentality, once we achieve a critical mass of environmental defenders, the change will accelerate exponentially.
