Here is another example of how body and mind are connected. Your digestive system influences your brain in many ways, and this relationship works the other way round too.

You may have experienced stomach problems before stressful events, resulting in vomiting or diarrhea. When you are stressed, your gut gets affected in so many ways, your appetite may change, digestion and metabolism may slow down, and in effect, weight change can occur (both ways, loosing too much or rapidly gaining weight). Prolonged stress may also lead to diabetes, obesity, and other health problems.
