Cloudy future

Warmer weather shifts warm air higher, which also causes clouds to shift up from the ground. That’s what enhances the global warming effect, as we are less protected from the sunlight as well as have more heat trapped.

There is an ongoing debate between scientists what would be the net effect of the clouds on the atmosphere heat. The views are divided and uncertain because we can’t reliably predict what will happen to the clouds. Solutions such as cloud geoengineering are becoming more and more often discussed as we face the uncertainty of how this phenomenon develop in a warmer climate.
