Active Rest

Remember to move and regularly spend time on active rest (which are mentally restorative physical activities). Some people find joy in climbing, others in hiking. During relaxing physical activity, your mind fills with what is sometimes called “happiness chemicals”, especially: 

  • endorphins – help you to cope with pain and stress
  • serotonin – depletion of which is often stress-related and could manifest in anxiety and depression
  • dopamine – motivation neurotransmitter, which can help you stay motivated even when you don’t feel like it
