The goal, however, is to decrease both organic and inorganic waste, not to shift the proportions from one to another. Organic waste can be reduced with the strategies you learned in the first Environment course (Climate Change and Communities).

Reduced waste from food, when still present, can be used for composting to grow your own little garden (even indoors), further decreasing the impact of organic waste on the environment. For all the waste, adopt the 3R’s of waste management:
