Have you heard of carbon sequestration? Sequestration means that carbon released from burning of the fossil fuel is captured before it reaches the atmosphere. As you know that carbon can’t get destroyed, it needs to be stored somewhere. That’s when companies use natural carbon sinks to bury it.

Carbon Capture and Sequestration or Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is a methodology that has for its primary goal make burning fossil fuels without releasing all of the CO2 in the atmosphere. The idea has been around since 1977, however, after over 4 decades, this technology is still not efficient.
